48 Electorate Candidates and counting: Growing Support for Better Streets 2025 Election Asks

As the 2025 Federal Election approaches, Better Streets Australia is thrilled to share a significant milestone in our campaign: 48 electorate candidates from across the country have publicly pledged their support for our campaign to significantly increase funding for walking and cycling infrastructure across the nation.

This comes as a result of over 200 emails sent to electorate candidates since April 9 using our Email Your Local Candidates tool. This milestone is a testament to the tireless efforts of our supporters and the growing recognition of the importance of sustainable and active transportation options.

Our campaign aims to increase the Australian Government's funding commitment from just $0.90 per person to $15 per person per year—a total of $400 million annually over the next decade. This level of investment is crucial to creating safer, more accessible streets that encourage walking and cycling, ultimately leading to healthier communities and a more sustainable environment.

We invite all parties and candidates around Australia to join us in asking the Government to commit to investing $400 million annually in the infrastructure needed to enable people to walk and ride a bike.

Thank you to the 48 candidates who have pledged their support for Better Streets' 2025 Election asks so far:
