Better Streets is launching a safe speeds campaign in 2026 seeking governments to set the default speed limit on local streets and built-up areas for 30 km/h.

We’re inviting people to register their support and get involved in the Safe Speeds campaign. You don’t need to be an expert — if you’re curious, motivated, or keen to learn, we’d love to hear from you.

There are lots of ways to contribute, including:

• Media & storytelling – helping shape messages, pitch stories, or write articles

• Communications – writing articles, creative assets, graphics, photography, videography, managing social media, the website, and our newsletter

• Policy & research – supporting policy development and evidence gathering

• Letter writing & training – helping roll out and support our letter-writing tool, write directly to decision makers

• Politics & outreach – engaging decision-makers and building relationships

• Project management – helping coordinate campaign activities and timelines
