Our new Membership, upcoming AGM and call for Board

We invite you to join Better Streets as a Member, come to our Annual General Meeting, and consider nominating for our Board of Directors.

  1. Become a member of Better Streets

Becoming a financial Member of Better Streets is a wonderful way to support this volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organisation.

For just $40 a year, you can:

  • Add your voice to the broad movement of support for the Better Streets Vision, Mission and Recommendations.

  • Help shape the organisation’s future, including our campaigning focus and work program.

  • Attend the Better Streets Annual General Meeting on 11 November, voting (and even standing for!) the Better Streets Board.

  • Participate in Member-only focus group discussions about our strategy and campaigns.

  • Receive Member-only or priority invitations to Better Streets get-togethers, briefings and other events.

2. Notice of Better Streets Annual General Meeting

You are warmly invited to join us for our 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM), to hear about our activities over the last year and plans for the year ahead. At the AGM, Members can vote - and stand (see below) - in Board elections. Save the date!

The Teams meeting location, including meeting agenda, will be emailed to all Better Streets Members at noon on Monday 10 November.

The AGM is an important opportunity for our Members to hear about Better Streets’ achievements, challenges and future plans. We look forward to seeing you online at 5pm on 11 November 2025.

3. Nominate for Better Streets' Board of Directors

We are calling for Member nominations for the election of Directors to serve on the Better Streets Board. 

Along with office-bearer roles - President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer - we are looking to attract committed and qualified people to fill general Director positions. To achieve the goals of Better Streets, office-bearers and general Directors work across these principal areas of responsibility:

  • Major campaigns.

  • Affiliates.

  • Local activism.

  • Volunteers.

  • Communications.

Elections for office-bearer and general Director roles will be held at our AGM.

To apply to be nominated for a Better Streets Board role, please download and fill in this form. This includes detailed information on what’s needed and expected from our office-bearers and other Directors.

Under our Constitution, your application must be submitted at least 7 days before the date of the Annual General Meeting. Email your completed form, for the attention of the Secretary, to contact@betterstreets.org.au no later than Monday 3 November 2025.
