Better Streets is now a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR)! This means gifts (donations) of $2 or over, are now tax-deductible.

As we approach the 2025 Australian federal election, Better Streets has launched a campaign asking the Australian Government, opposition, other parties and candidates to significantly increase funding for walking and cycling. Our goal is to boost the Australian Government's funding commitment to $15 per person annually, up from a historical average of just 90 cents. 

Local group, Lewisham Better Streets, is improving walking amenity and has now put a Lewisham Town Centre Upgrade on council’s agenda for this year.

Congratulations to Better Streets Northern Beaches for organising the Walk, Ride, and Scoot event last month. The event was to gather support from the community and to highlight the need for safer streets for children.

Better Streets has written a submission to express concerns regarding the exemption of oversized vehicles from the New Vehicle Fuel Efficiency standard.

The BikeSpot 2023 reports are out!  In our review of the NSW report, we look at the most-voted Safe and Unsafe spots for cycling in Sydney and the rest of NSW and the primary safety concerns around the unsafe spots (hint, it is not a lack of bicycle stencils painted in the road!).
